green grass within

2024/Solo Exhibition
green grass within is an exhibition of process—an installation of fragmented memories that overlap, reform, and engage with the present moment. It explores maternal relationships as an intangible, overlapping space where femininity intertwines with the stories untold and the unexpected; sprawling through a continuous process of transformation and revision. It evokes a sense of imagined nostalgia, a longing that one clings to when time truncates the path for daughters to return home.

Reminiscence

2024/Duo Exhibition
Reminiscence is a duo exhibition and collaborated installation between Jing and Caesar at RED Gallery 23 October - 3 November 2024 .

Reminiscence delves into the ongoing redefinition of home and identity. Jing Liang’s work reassembles fragmented memories of matrilineal relationships, questioning the reimagined past and the emotional journey of returning to a home transformed by time and memory. Xinyuan (Caesar) Li reinterprets Chinese characters by blending them with English typography to reconnect with their pictorial roots, while reflecting on personal experience, identity, and transcultural relationships.

06. A Silence Dance

2024/Group Exhibition
A Silent Dance is an exhibition that combines ceramic sculptures by Jing Liang and jewellery by Jie Zhou to examine gendered consciousness within current times. The artworks utilised experimental craft techniques and are framed within Chinese context, presenting themes of female body, labour, and time, evoking contemporary discourses from women’s ageing and unrecognised feminine labour to a broader context of cultural and gender politics.
